LAUNCH MSPaint (or other Application) with AB Tutor
MSPaint "Exploring the Tools of MSPaint"
LESSON: Students will be exploring the Tools of the Home ribbon in the Paint program. Show them the following 1-to-1 as needed and let them explore their creative side today.
Things to watch out for:
SEATING
STUDENTS DO NOT LOGIN OR LOGOUT TODAY. YOU WILL BE LEAVING COMPUTERS LOGGED IN WITH A GENERIC ACCOUNT ALL DAY.
Have students enter from hallway, remaining in ordered line, and have them fill seats according to seating charts that were emailed to Ms. Topping and Ms. Humphrey in the Main Office.
- Using AB Tutor, select Computer Lab from the "Connection" textbox center of screen. OK
- Select all computers in list in main frame of screen.
- From the top Menu bar, select "Application", and "Launch"
- Type mspaint.exe into textbox that appears, click OK
(for other Applications, type chrome.exe, or firefox.exe, or testtkr.exe) - Program should open on all computers. Maximize screen on all computers by hand.
- Using AB Tutor, select Computer Lab from the "Connection" textbox center of screen. OK
- Select all computers in list in main frame of screen.
- From the top Menu bar, select "Application", and "Close"
- Type mspaint.exe into textbox that appears, click OK
(for other Applications, type chrome.exe, or firefox.exe, or testtkr.exe) - Program should close on all computers. Note any MAP tests that have been started by accident.
MSPaint "Exploring the Tools of MSPaint"
LESSON: Students will be exploring the Tools of the Home ribbon in the Paint program. Show them the following 1-to-1 as needed and let them explore their creative side today.
- Color 1 - select any color from the many color tiles to the right. That selected color is now Color 1.
- Brushes (9 in all) - each brush paints a different texture. Try them all.
- Line size - add variety to each Brush by increasing or decreasing with the Line size drop-down list.
- Fill command - Want to quickly fill an open space with Color 1, find the icon like a Paint Can.
Things to watch out for:
- students stuck on Color 2, click Color 1
- trying to use Eraser to get rid of everything. There are no mistakes. We are exploring.
- closing the program. Change seats to one with Paint open.
